Following the blooming success of last year's inaugural event, the Washington Park East Neighborhood Association (WPENA) is thrilled to announce that the Garden Tour is officially becoming an annual tradition!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 6, as we open the gates to some of the neighborhoods's most inspiring outdoor spaces.

This Year’s Green Themes

For 2026, we are shifting our focus toward sustainability and functionality. We want to showcase gardens that do more than just look pretty—they give back to the earth and the community. This year’s tour highlights:

  • Wildlife & Pollinators: Habitats designed to support our local birds, bees, and butterflies.
  • Water-Wise Landscapes: Stunning examples of drought-tolerant xeriscaping that prove "thrifty" can be beautiful.
  • Homegrown Produce: Edible landscapes featuring fruit trees, herb gardens, and "farm-to-table" backyard setups.

Get Involved: We Need Your Green Thumb!

This event is a labor of love fueled by neighbors like you. Whether you have a yard to show off or just a passion for the outdoors, there are several ways to participate:

  1. Showcase Your Space: Does your garden fit one of our themes? We’d love to include it!
  2. Join the Committee: Help us scout and select the featured gardens for this year’s route.
  3. Volunteer on Tour Day: Assist with check-ins and help the day run smoothly.

To volunteer or nominate a garden, please email us at: WPENAonline@gmail.com

This tour is more than just a walk through the flowers; it’s a fantastic way to connect with neighbors and share your passion for sustainable living. Stay tuned for more details on tickets and the full tour map.

We can't wait to celebrate the beauty of our neighborhood with you!
